Havoc Heli Choices
If you want a whole bunch of fun, I highly recommend that you exercise your flying ability with one of these neat micro helis. You will find that there are many to choose from with a variety of styles, types, colors, and sizes available. Air Hogs has been producing these flying machines for several years and now has a real nice selection of Havoc Heli as well as radio controlled airplanes. They have a new release this year that you have probably seen on TV called the Switchblade, which takes off vertically and then switches to an airplane mode.
I’ll give some descriptions here of some of the more popular Micro Helis, air Havoc Heli and RC planes that are available from Air Hogs, plus pictures that you can click on to get additional information from the product site. The product site has some great sales going on and offers free shipping on many of the items. You will also be able to get spare parts and accessories from the same site. These cool little flying machines are a great gift idea – especially for Christmas. However, as I found out last year – if you are buying some of these Air Hogs toys as Christmas gifts, you need to get them early or it’s quite possible the supply will run out!
Original Havoc Heli: This is the original Styrofoam version, which measures only six inches long and weighs a mere 10 grams. This little flying machine is very stable and easy to fly in the smallest of spaces. Fly up to 3 helicopters together. Has blue flashing light for night flight. Main Rotor Diameter: 5.25inches. Length 6.5inches excluding rotors. Rear Rotor diameter 1.25inches. Helicopter weight: Only 10g, including Li-Poly battery. Available in 3 different colors.
Air Hogs Micro Havoc Heli: This is a lower priced version of the Havoc RC Heli. It fits right inside the controller box for easy storage. Very easy to fly with durable foam construction and 4 way precision control. It’s a great little Micro Heli for the money.
Air HogsARH RDC Havoc Heli Blue Marine GEN: This is a plastic body version of the original Styrofoam Havoc Heli, and is therefore more durable. 2 channel IR remote operation with 4 way control. You can fly up to 3 of these in the same room, with a range up to about 100 feet. It’s a good looking Micro Heli that flys well.
Blackhawk Havoc Heli Stealth: Same construction as the ARH RDC Heli above. Has a great looking Blackhawk design. Good flying and durable Havoc RC Heli.
Air Hogs Radio Controlled F-18 Wildcat: This F-18 replica is great for outdoor flying. It is best suited for intermediate level pilots, and will take a little time to gain proficiency. It is quite durable and can be taken off from the ground or hand launched. This RC plane should be flown only on very calm or no-wind days. Be careful, as this plane has enough range that you can lose sight of it and possibly not be able to find it again.
Air Hogs Jet Scream R/C Airplane: This is a really cool advanced flyer that uses real ducted twin fan technology to propel this aircraft to amazing heights and distance. It is easy to fly and very durable. Best to fly outside with lots of room on a calm day. This RC plane is about 15 inches long and recharges from its own remote control.
Air Hogs Switchblade: This is a really cool flying machine that hovers like a UFO on takeoff and then will fly like a plane. Operates from a 27 Mhz remote control and has a wing span of about 17 inches. The remote control has a throttle, direction toggle, trim knob, and “morph” button, making it easy for intermediate aviators to pilot the Switchblade from up to 300 feet away. You will want to fly the Switchblade somewhere with plenty of room, and it will take a bit of practice to “get the hang” of this machine. You should take it up quite high in the takeoff mode before switching to the plane mode so you will have time to gain control before possibly running into the ground. The durability is pretty good and you will have a lot of fun with this unique flying machine.
